Aurora makes golden start
Southern Cross Catholic College Swim Club member Aurora Jansma has made a stunning start to her international career.
The eight-year-old won four gold medals and the Most Outstanding Swimmer award at the Swim League Philippines Swim Battle Finale in Manila.
Representing Laguna Capitol Swim Club, Aurora won the eight years 100m butterfly, 100m freestyle, 50m breaststroke and 50m backstroke events.
That contributed 118 points to her swimming club’s tally board at the meeting in Muntinlupa on September 7.
Aurora received the Most Outstanding Swimmer medallion from Swim League Philippines Director Joey Andaya.
The event attracted more than 500 entrants from the Philippines and overseas, including Canada and Australia. It was televised nationally and live streamed.
This follows the Brisbane Short Course Championships in August where Aurora won gold and silver medals in all four events she entered.
She may enter another international meet in Asian next year.
