Best playgrounds for summer fun in Moreton Bay

If you’re looking for fun and affordable ways to entertain the kids this summer, why not jump in the car and explore one of these great playgrounds?
There is plenty of great play equipment and open spaces for children and adults to enjoy, so pack a picnic and make a day of it.
Spinnaker Park, Newport
Set in a prime location on the Redcliffe Peninsula, Spinnaker Park is a beautiful lakefront playground appealing to families looking to enjoy a day in the sun.
Designed with a nautical theme in mind, this all-abilities playground features a play ship, coconut rope swing, climbing nets, slides, sand and more.
The showstopper of the park is the 11m sail tower, which features multi-level climbing activities for those who like a little more adventure, and two fast slides for kids to whoosh down.
There is also a smaller sail tower for toddlers to enjoy.
Spinnaker Park is at 39 Lakeview Promenade, Newport.
Stone Ridge Park, Narangba
Situated on a cleverly recrafted hill and terraced over four levels, Stone Ridge Park has something for everyone.
Highlights of this park include swings, climbing apparatus, slippery dip, spinning contraptions, seesaws, basketball court, bicycle track, dog off leash area, barbecues, shelters and more.

John Scott Park, Samford
In the heart of Samford Village, John Scott Park offers different playgrounds for smaller kids and bigger kids to explore.
Little kids will love the variety of slides, rockers and climbing structures, while the big kids will enjoy the giant adventure playground with swings, a bridge, multiple slides and climbing equipment.
It is also bordered on two sides by green space – ideal for a game of footy or cricket.

Leslie Patrick Park, Arana Hills
Not only is Leslie Patrick Park in Arana Hills the perfect place for the kids to have a great day - it's also an all-abilities playground which means that children of all physical and intellectual abilities can join in the fun.
They will be in awe of the climbing apparatus in the middle of the playground, become slightly dizzy on the hugely popular spinners, or pretend they are in the construction industry by playing on the little sand digger.
There are also wheelchair accessible carousels, musical instruments, barbecues and more.

Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine
With a garden maze for children to get lost in, a pedal train track, flying fox, slides, swings and more, it won’t be hard for families to end up spending an entire day at Pine Rivers Park in Strathpine.
There is also something for the little ones, with a dedicated toddler playground that comes complete with toddler height appropriate activities, a sandpit and swings.
While the kids are playing, parents can sit back and enjoy their coffee as they watch their children make new friends in the fully fenced playground areas.

If you’re looking for a fun way to cool off during the summer days, be sure to take the kids down to Petrie Mill Adventure Playground where they can splash around to their heart’s content at the free water park, with splash pad and water bucket.
There are also two playgrounds, a flying fox, cricket pitch and a large open green space to kick a ball around.
If you would like to stay longer, there are also plenty of picnic tables and electric barbecues.

Bray Farm Park, Griffin
Dubbed the ‘Harry Potter Park’ by locals for its bewitching structures, Bray Farm Park combines art, culture and nature to create a unique family fun park for children of all ages to enjoy.
The two bewitching structures have a bridge, climbing net, fireman’s pole, slide, turrets and windows for kids to climb on.
Other features of the park include toddler swings, a large grassed area for ball games, bench seating and sheltered picnic tables.

Pelican Park, Clontarf
Pelican Park in Clontarf is a popular spot for families to gather as it features two playgrounds - one with a wheelchair accessible swing - as well as plenty of walking and bike paths, and lots of grass to throw out the picnic rug.
There’s also plenty of space where you can fly a kite to go and fly a kite when the sea breeze blows in.
After the kids have had a play, why not enjoy a nice walk along by the water.

Located in the shopping strip of Scarborough Village, Pirate Park is a favourite for parents of toddlers and teens alike.
The most popular feature of the park is, train and pirate themed attractions, and a cluster of stunning trees for climbing.
The park also boasts plenty of car parking spaces as well as barbeques, green space for kicking a ball and sandy shores for building a castle.
