Big events in Moreton Bay for 2024

Like to plan ahead? Here’s a list of the big events happening across the City of Moreton Bay in 2024.

There will also be a program of smaller community events announced throughout the year.

It’s going to be a massive 2024.

January

January 26: Music in the Park Scarborough from 1-6pm at Scarborough Beach Park. Live music, children’s activities, food trucks and market stalls. Free entry.

January 26: Australia Day on Bribie Island from 5-8pm at Brennan Park, Bongaree. Entertainment, food trucks and fireworks. Free entry.

February

February 10: Splash and Play at The Mill Water Park, Petrie from 8am-noon. Splash pad with water bucket and adventure playground + food trucks, markets stalls and live DJ. Free entry.

February 16-18: Moreton Bay Expo at Redcliffe Showgrounds will showcase the latest caravans, camper trailers, vehicles, boats, and fishing, camping and 4x4 equipment and accessories. Ticketed event.

February 17: Moreton Bay Lunar New Year. Celebrate the beginning of the Chinese New Year at Caboolture Town Square from 3-8pm. Asian food, workshops and firecracker display. Free entry.

March

March 6: International Women’s Day Business Luncheon at Eatons Hill Hotel. Ticketed event.

March 10: Moreton Kids Festival at Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine, from 8am-3pm. Discover five worlds of fun for kids with free rides, stage shows, activities, wildlife encounters and more. Ticketed event.

April

April 20: Learn more about emergency services during the Emergency Services Expo at Samford from 9am-1pm. Free entry.

April 25: Anzac Day. Services will be held across the City of Moreton Bay at various times, starting with Dawn Services. Free entry.

April 28: Crusin’ Caboolture from 10am-3pm at the James Street Precinct, Caboolture. Check out the cars, music and children’s activities. Free entry.

May

May 9-26: City of Moreton Bay’s Anywhere Festival will include a calendar of pop-up events across the city.

May 10: Business Luncheon with guest speaker at Eatons Hill Hotel from noon. Ticketed event.

May 18-19: Moreton Bay Multisport Festival at Clontarf’s Pelican Park. Distances for all running and walking abilities on Saturday with triathlon on Sunday.

May 25: Hills Carnivale from noon-7pm at George Willmore Park, Ferny Hills. Children’s activities, rides, entertainment, markets and fireworks. Free entry.

June

June 7-9: Caboolture Show at Caboolture Showgrounds. Ticketed event.

June 8: Moreton Bay Pride Festival at Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine, from 1-9pm. Stage entertainment and huge celebration of the LGBTIQA+ community. Ticketed event.

June 21-22: Woodford Show at Woodford Showgrounds. Ticketed event.

June 28-30: Redcliffe Show at Redcliffe Showgrounds. Ticketed event.

July

July 5: Moreton Bay Business and Innovation Awards at St Columban’s College, Caboolture, from 6-11pm. Ticketed event.

July 6-7: Abbey Medieval Festival at The Abbey Place, Caboolture. Take a step back to the Middle Ages and enjoy jousting, archery, Turkish oil wrestling and much more. Ticketed event.

July 13-14: Samford Show at Samford Showgrounds. Ticketed event.

July 21: Jetty 2 Jetty Half Marathon and Fun Run at Clontarf’s Pelican Park from 6-11am. Registration fees apply.

August

August 2-4: Pine Rivers Show at Pine Rivers Showgrounds. Ticketed event.

August 10-November 3: Australia in Space from Questacon exhibition at Redcliffe Museum.

August 12: Caboolture Family Fun Day from 10am-4pm at Centenary Lakes, Caboolture. Free rides and entertainment.

August 23-25: Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival at Apex Park, Woody Point. Celebrity chefs, workshops, market stalls, bars, entertainment and much more. Ticketed event.

September

September 5: Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine, from 8.30am-1.30pm. Free entry.

September 14-15: Redcliffe KItefest at Clontarf’s Pelican Park from 9am-4pm. Enjoy giant kites, aerobatics, stage entertainment, children’s activities, markets at much more. Ticketed event.

September 21: Wamuran FAM Fest (Food. Art. Music) from 9am-1pm at Wamuran Sports Complex. Free entry.

October

October 13: Emergency Services Expo at Clontarf’s Pelican Park from 2-6pm. Learn more about emergency services. Free entry.

October 17: Music in the Park – Grandparents’ Day. Celebrate the older members of your family at Leslie Patrick Park, Arana Hills, from 8-11am. Free entry.

November

November 2: Feasts and Beast Caboolture at the James Street Precinct. Times to be confirmed but event is likely to start late afternoon and run into the evening. Free entry.

November 8: Business lunch at Eatons Hill Hotel from noon with guest speaker. Ticketed event.

November 11: Remembrance Day. Services to be held across the City of Moreton Bay.

November 30: North Lakes Christmas Carols at Kinsellas Sports Fields from 4-8pm. Free entry.

December

December 1: Caboolture Christmas Carols at Centenary Lakes from 4-8pm. Free entry.

December 7: Murrumba Christmas Spectacular at John Oxley Reserve from 4-8pm. Free entry.

December 8: Redcliffe Peninsula Christmas Carols at Nathan Road Sports Complex from 4-8pm. Free entry.

December 15: Pine Rivers Christmas Carols at Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine, from 4-8pm. Free entry.

December 27-January 1: Woodford Folk Festival at Woodfordia. Massive program of music, workshops, talks and entertainment. Ticketed event.
