Full preview to 2024 Redcliffe Show
Published 9:00am 24 June 2024
The countdown is on to this year’s Redcliffe Show, a chance to experience a traditional agricultural show that embraces this unique seaside community and offers fun for the whole family.
The 75th annual show is on June 29, 29 and 30 at Redcliffe Showgrounds.
Redcliffe Show Society President Philip Hood says the event is a cherished tradition which is deeply rooted in the Peninsula’s history and brings together people from all walks of life.
“Local agricultural shows provide a platform for local artisans, farmers, and small businesses to showcase their talents and products,” Philip says.
“From handmade crafts to local produce, local shows celebrate the unique cultural identity and rich diversity of the community, creating opportunities for individuals to support and appreciate locally sourced goods.
“Local shows play a crucial role in preserving traditions and heritage, passing down generational knowledge and skills to future generations.”
He says this is achieved through agricultural exhibits, culinary competitions, cultural performances and more.
“Shows serve as living repositories of shared history and customs, reinforcing a sense of pride and identity within the community,” he says.
Visitors and locals will be treated to all the traditional displays, demonstrations, competitions, and ring events they might expect from a local show as well as a high-octane evening entertainment program.
Street food and family favourites will be available in Food Lane, while Webb Hall Market Square will offer vibrant stalls, homewares, lollies, candles, clothing and more.
There will be plenty of fun to be found in sideshow alley, with rides, showbags, games and treats for all ages.
