The Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival is back, kicking off in style with a  launch party at The Belvedere.

Hundreds of food and wine enthusiasts, as well as local councillors and festival sponsors attended the launch on Friday, May 31, which gave them a sneak peek into the festival’s jam-packed program.

There was also a ticket box as well as plenty of games where people could try their luck at winning tickets.

Held over three scrumptious days from August 23-25, the festival is Queensland’s biggest foodie celebration with special appearances by a host of celebrity chefs, live cooking demonstrations, unique dining experiences, pop-up bars and restaurants, food trucks, local produce, market stalls, music, hands-on workshops and more.

Speaking at the launch, City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery said the Moreton Bay Food + Wine Festival is one of the biggest foodie events on the South East’s culinary calendar.

“Attendees can take in the sunshine along the Woody Point waterfront while they enjoy some of Australia’s best produce and most incredible chefs,” he said.

“The festival shines a light on all our local producers and gives visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in our delicious food and wine offerings.

“Each year the festival gets bigger and better, and this year will be no exception. We might run out of parkland here at Woody Point one year.”

Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) CEO Tash Wheeler said months of hard work had gone into preparing this year's festival.

"The team at MBRIT and Visit Moreton Bay are so excited to bring this event once again back to the region,” she said.

“This team has been working so hard since the day after the last festival to ensure this year’s festival will put not only the Peninsula, but the whole city of Moreton Bay on the map right here in South East Queensland and across Australia.

“We have got a big dream and a mission, and none of that would be possible without our incredible partners and sponsors.

“Event’s can not happen without partnership and sponsorship, so thank you for your incredible support.”
