Giving Machine's dates by the bay
Published 12:07pm 20 November 2024
The Giving Machine is coming back to Moreton Bay, with our region hosting one of two in Queensland in the month before Christmas.
MKT Square Deception Bay will be home to the charity Giving Machine from November 27-December 27.
A specially-designed vending machine will be opposite Australia Post at MKT Square, enabling donors to buy an item for one of seven selected charities.
Some people are hesitant about giving cash without knowing what and where their money is going.
But the Giving Machine allows donors to choose a charity and every donation through the machine goes to the selected organisation.
Volunteers will be with the machine every day – except Christmas Day – to answer questions and help those wishing to donate.
The Giving Machine is a world wide initiative that has raised over $50 million for local and international charities over the past five years.
Queensland's second Giving Machine will be outside Kmart at Logan Hyperdome.
For more information about the machines, please visit www.givingmachine.org.au or go to the Giving Machine’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
