Huge demand for Essence apartments

Construction will start soon at Essence on Sutton – a new eight-storey apartment block overlooking the Redcliffe coastline.
Work, at 4-8 Sutton St, will get underway in a couple of months and finish in 18 months, said Bradley Durkin, Director of Contrast Constructions.
More than 70 per cent of the 26 apartments were sold before the first sod was turned today, with buyers coming from Moreton Bay, Queensland and interstate.
Essence on Sutton will have four, three and two-bedroom apartments, each with an open-plan kitchen, balcony and views.
Mr Durkin said the floor plans are “extremely generous with high-quality finishes”, giving a “broad menu of price and size”.
Car parks are above ground, with residences from level three, which means no “subterranean basements” and “no water ingress issues”.
“We have also worked hard with Council requirements for no light pollution, so neighbours will have no disturbance from (car lights),” he added.
Mr Durkin said all air conditioning units will be in an enclosure on the roof, rather than individual balconies.
“It’s something we like to do,” he said, “we don’t want air conditioning units blowing hot air on residents and or being an eyesore from surrounding buildings.”
Mayor Peter Flannery, who helped launch the project, was “very impressed with the design, concept and ideas”.
“They are high-quality apartments and the price range is very impressive compared to what you can buy on the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast,” he said.
“That’s why people are flocking here - the natural beauty, you are close to the water and you have a quality apartment in which to live.”
