Making Christmas happier

Redcliffe Hospital staff have dug deep this Christmas as part of their annual St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal.

More than 60 families will celebrate a happier Christmas, thanks to the generosity of Redcliffe Hospital staff and clinicians.

Acting Redcliffe Hospital Executive Director Louise O'Riordan said this was the 10th year the hospital had run its Christmas Appeal with St Vincent de Paul.

"Once again this year, all those donations will go to local families, with St Vincent de Paul making sure they go to those who need our help the most," Ms O’Riordan said.

"We always have a great response to our Christmas Appeal, and again this year, we have hampers and donations collected from virtually every part of the hospital."

Ms O’Riordan said that the response to the Christmas Appeal from staff never failed to make her proud of the hospital and its people.

Facility Services Coordinator at Redcliffe Hospital, Rhonda Neal, helped to coordinate the appeal this year, including collecting the hundreds of hampers and boxes.

Ms Neal said the Christmas Appeal was something that a lot of hospital staff took very seriously.

"Everyone puts a lot of time and thought into putting these hampers and donations together to make sure that they'll be just what the doctor ordered this Christmas," Ms Neal said.
