Moreton Bay show dates and programs revealed

It’s that time of the year again when families can take a spin on the exciting carnival rides, munch on dagwood dogs dipped in tomato sauce and stock up on novelty showbags, with Moreton Bay’s first agricultural show set to kick off this weekend.

This year, there will be six big shows held across the city for everyone to enjoy, each featuring an array live entertainment, pavilion displays, show judging, fireworks, food trucks and more!

Here is your handy guide to each show.

Caboolture Show

Show dates:

Friday, June 7: 8am-9pm

Saturday, June 8: 8am-9pm

Sunday, June 9: 8am-3.30pm

The countdown is on to the 97th Caboolture Show and Rodeo, which kicks off this weekend at the Caboolture Showgrounds.

The event will feature fun for the whole family, including all the excitement of bull riding and calf roping at the rodeo, as well as monster trucks and two spectacular fireworks displays during the Friday and Saturday night shows in the main arena.

There will also be plenty of rides for kids and adults in Sideshow Alley, showbags filled with toys and lollies, horse jumping featuring some of Australia’s best riders, champion woodchoppers out to defend their titles, a dinosaur show with dinosaur puppets and animatronic dinosaur displays, as well as a rock-climbing wall, scarecrow competition, horticulture displays, arts and crafts, animal judging, carnival food, plus much more!

Woodford Show

From bull and barrel riding to dog jumping, woodchopping, and pavilion displays featuring talented locals, the Woodford Show is a great example of the town’s creative and sporting lifestyle.

Held over two big days, organisers have made Friday the show’s inaugural Family Fun Day, which will include all the traditional show sections as well as fun activities and entertainment for kids like face painting, live music, a petting zoo, hula hoop workshops and a balloon twister.

Other highlights of the show include heart-stopping amusement rides, showbags, fireworks, camp oven demonstrations, wildlife encounters, food vans, a bar, and live entertainment at the inaugural country music after sunset event.

Adults: $15 on Friday; $20 on Saturday

Student/pensioner (ID required): $10 on Friday; $15 on Saturday

Children under 13 with a paying adult: Free both days

Redcliffe Show

The Redcliffe Showgrounds will be a hive of activity for the 75th annual Redcliffe Show, with organisers saying this year’s event will be their biggest and best event yet.

Some of the program highlights include the Trackskill Utes (Friday and Saturday night), FMX Motorcross (Friday and Saturday night), Fireworks (Friday and Saturday night) and a vintage car parade (Saturday night).

Kids will also love the range of amusement rides plus the reptile display, dinosaur show, puppet show, animal nursery, and pig races.

Dayboro Show

Show dates:

There will be plenty to see and do when the annual Dayboro Show is held at the Dayboro Showgrounds in early July.

Highlights of the two-day extravaganza include the V8 Trackskill Holden versus Ford Ute Challenge, a break dance show plus workshop, best looking mullet competition, and Ranger Nick’s Camp Oven Show.

There will also be amusement rides, showbags, an animal nursery, show jumping, mini trotting, woodchopping, roving performers, face painting, cattle showing, chainsaw carving, food trucks, a licenced bar and fireworks.

Adults (pre-purchased) $15 or $20 at the gate

Concession: $10

High school students: $10

Samford Show

This year’s Samford Show promises two days packed with traditional show attractions and lots of entertainment at the Samford Showgrounds.

The whole family will enjoy a range of interactive activities including agricultural displays, an animal nursery, ring entertainment, rides and attractions, live entertainment by FMX Motorcross and Eljay Freestyle entertainment, Dinkum Dinosaurs, pig racing, plus lots of delicious food, great music and the Saturday evening fireworks.

Pine Rivers Show

Saddle up the family and trot on over to the Pine Rivers Showground for three fantastic days of fun and entertainment at the annual Pine Rivers Show this August.

Included in the jam-packed itinerary are roving entertainers, the Ashton Circus, a Clydesdale spectacular, rides, showbags, a trackless train, Eljay Freestyle entertainment, plus the rodeo.
