Ray White chips in for Christmas appeal

Staff from Ray White Woody Point are helping feed the region’s homeless and needy by collecting food items for the Redcliffe Community Care Network's annual Community Christmas Appeal.

They have been collecting a wide range of canned goods and other essential pantry items, as well as toys and gifts for kids, which will be distributed by the network to struggling families and individuals on the Redcliffe Peninsula.

The Redcliffe Community Care Network is made up of several services including The Breakfast Club, The Salvation Army, Encircle, Redcliffe Uniting Church, City of Moreton Bay, Band of Brothers, Redcliffe Mums Inc, Emerge Church and Peace Christian Church.

With the network expecting to make up about 500 hampers this year, Ray White Woody Point principal Damien Misso says every donation will go a long way.

“Homelessness is a big issue for a lot of people because the cost of everything is going up,” Damien says.

“A lot of people are sadly struggling, so I am proud that our office and team can do something positive to help those who need a little extra help.

“We have collected lots of food items, as well as some gifts and toys for the kids – everything The Breakfast Club needs to fill their hampers.”

In addition to staff donations, members of the community have also been dropping off items for the appeal.

“We sent out an email to everyone in our data base, put signs about the appeal in the window, and announced it on social media,” Damien says.

“People have been really responsive and generous.

“If it is easier for other businesses to use our office as a drop off location, we will happily recognise any local business who wants to help.”

Two weeks to go

If you or your business would like to support the appeal, you have two weeks left to gather your donations.

All donations must be dropped off to The Breakfast Club by Wednesday, December 13 so volunteers from the network can start packing the hampers.

Food donations can be dropped off at The Breakfast Club (34 Cornelius St, Clontarf) every Tuesday and Thursday between 9am-1.30pm, as well as on Sundays from 3-5pm.

Toy donations can be taken to The Salvation Army (64-72 Ashmole Rd, Kippa-Ring) every Tuesday and Friday between 9am-12pm.
