Revving up for charity run
Hundreds of trucks will roll into Redcliffe next month as part of the 15th annual Brisbane Convoy for Kids (BC4K).
At 7.30am on Saturday, November 2, the huge convoy will leave Larapinta to showcase the transport industry and what it does for the community.
The stunning spectacle will travel up the Logan Motorway, Gateway Motorway and Deagon Deviation to Oxley Ave and then Redcliffe Showgrounds.
There a family fun day will feature free amusement rides, animal nursery, charity auction and entertainment, including a fireworks display.
Aria Award-winning Diesel. Australian country music legend Travis Sinclair and local favourites MattLach will provide the music.
For youngsters there will be child-focussed entertainers Dino Encounters.
And at the heart of it all, a magnificent display of trucks all raising money for the Hummingbird House Foundation.
Queensland’s only children’s hospice provides short stay breaks, family support, end of life care and ongoing care for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
“Brisbane Convoy for Kids 2024 promises to be an exceptional year, thanks to the unwavering support of our dedicated volunteers and sponsors,” BC4K President Chris Doosey said.
“They selflessly contribute their time and resources despite busy lives and business commitments. Their generosity is truly inspiring and humbling.
“This year's event will feature fantastic kids' entertainment and an impressive display of trucks on the oval.
“It's heartwarming to see our community come together, with a talented team of volunteers and enthusiastic drivers who meticulously prepare their vehicles.
