Team off to flying start at Village Motors Rothwell

The team at Village Motors Rothwell has hit the ground running since taking on the dealership in April, topping sales Australia-wide and implementing a culture of strong customer service.
The SsangYong and Mahindra dealership, at 723 Deception Bay Rd, Rothwell, also sells used cars.
New and Used Car Sales Manager Alex Seaward says Village Motors took on the dealership from April 2, updating it, adding more used cars and bringing the company’s philosophy of outstanding customer service.
“We’ve really taken both brands on very well – Mahindra and SsangYong. We’ve really hit the ground running,” Alex says.
In May, it was named No.1 SsangYong dealer in Australia.
“That was a great achievement in our second month of operation. In June, we backed it up and got No.1 again,” he says.
“From the figures I’ve seen we really drove it home and didn’t just get No.1. We got it quite convincingly. So, to achieve that in our first three months of operating, being new to the brand … to achieve number one in the country two months in a row I think is a very good indication of where we’ve started.”
So, what can customers expect from the team at Village Motors Rothwell?
“Service. I’m very old-school in the way I run the dealership and I’ve had a lot of people point out how old-school I am,” Alex says.
“Even though I’m the manager here and I do have quite a big role looking after the three departments, I’m very hands-on. I’m more of a selling manager than I am a manager, so I get heavily involved with the customer.
“Basically, people are a stranger but once. They walk in the second time, they know a couple of people they’ve dealt with, so it makes life very, very easy. It’s hassle-free and it’s not pushy.
“The customer’s here to buy a car, we’re here to sell a car, so it’s a matter of finding that common ground and making sure we can meet the expectations of the customer not only in the brand and the service that we offer but also in the pricing and trades and all the bits and pieces.
“We make sure they’re getting everything they need and everything they want in the product and in the final back-up at the end of the day.
“Being a part of Village Motors, it has a very good reputation in this area. We’re going to do everything we can to uphold that and make sure our customers are satisfied with what they’re getting and the approach we have.”
Alex says Village Motors is a great company to work for, and a happy team culture flows through to the customer.
“Village Motors is very highly ranked with all the other brands they sell – they sell eight brands in total – I’m pretty sure you’ll find we’re in the top three with every one of those brands. That alone is a very good indication of the company and the people that you’re dealing with,” he says.
