Treasure trove of tasty treats and spooky stalls

Scallywags of all ages are invited to enjoy an evening of trick or treating, hair-raising entertainment, spine-tingling music, and fiendishly good street food when the Festival of Frights takes over the Redcliffe foreshore this month.

Hosted by the Redcliffe Markets, this pirate-themed twilight market will be held from 4-9pm on October 26.

Co-ordinator Mark Powers says the event will offer a treasure trove of fun for the whole family.

“Join us for a fa-boo-lous evening featuring gourmet eats from South East Queensland’s best food trucks, live entertainment, and over 200 spooktacular stalls,” Mark says.

“Whether you’re hunting for unique Halloween-themed goodies or just looking to enjoy a night out on the shore, the Festival of Frights has something for everyone.

“There will also be a pirate scavenger hunt where you can follow the clues to uncover hidden treasure and earn your pirate stripes, and spooky stilt-walkers parading through the market, adding to the eerie atmosphere.

“As the night draws near, don’t miss the spectacular fireworks display kicking off at 8.30pm.”

Visitors are also urged to dress up in their best costume for the chance to win some prizes.

“Don’t forget to dress in your abso-loot-ly spooky best for a chance to win the best dressed competition. Whether you’re a ghost, ghoul, or pirate, show off your frightful fashion for a chance to take home the treasure,” Mark says.
