Unique boutique opens in Redcliffe
Published 9:00am 10 October 2023
Redcliffe’s newest recycled clothing outlet offers a boutique experience at op shop prices.
Industry & Co Collective is run by ROPE, which provides support, education and life skills training to people living with intellectual disabilities.
ROPE chief executive Wes Bleakely says the shop offers a unique experience for patrons, with the added bonus of providing hands-on training for ROPE participants to gain a Certificate III in Business.
“We wanted to make our customers feel special,” Wes says.

Industry & Co Collective opened late last month and has already developed a loyal following.
It’s home to designer and children’s sections and decked out with funky lanterns and storage units.
As well as clothing, footwear and jewellery, it stocks an ever-changing range of homewares all donated by generous supporters.
“The quality is just incredible – we’re so grateful for people donating,” Wes says.
Spacious change rooms cater for people with mobility issues and a flat entry allows people in wheelchairs to visit.
Wes says the boutique op shop complements ROPE’s other social enterprise, Industry & Co – Coffee with a Purpose at Margate, which also offers traineeships for staff.
Haven for op shoppers
He says the boutique’s location was strategically chosen to be in the heart of Sutton St’s burgeoning op shop precinct.
“We’re hoping people will make it a destination – go to the beach, have fish and chips and go op shopping.
“If you’re an op shopper, the more in the one spot the better.”

Industry & Co Collective has a VIP club and customers can achieve silver level by spending $50 in one transaction.
Silver VIPs are rewarded with 10 percent discounts on subsequent visits.
Shoppers can earn Gold VIP status with a $100 spend, which gives them a 20 percent discount and invitations to previews when new stock arrives.
Industry & Co Collective is at 126 Sutton St, Redcliffe.
It’s open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-2pm.
