Village Motors makes Nissan history
The team at Village Motors has won Dealership of the Year Nissan Elite Financial Services for the third year in a row and Sales Manager Jeanette Morgan has become the first woman to reach a significant milestone.
The award recognises good customer service and experience with finance, the volume of finance written, insurance, and promoting programs the manufacturer has on offer including future value. It also takes into account customer loyalty, servicing and training.
Village Motors Business Manager Shelley Winslade says winners need to prove they have achieved at the highest level in all areas.
In her view, a family focus, attention to detail and staff retention are key aspects of the business that set it apart from its competitors.
“I’m a big believer in customer service being a local. You can buy these cars anywhere, but customer service is what sets you apart,” she says.
“That means getting to know customers and what they want and going through the options with them.”
There is also effective communication among the Village Motors team to make the experience seamless for customers. They work together to make sure customers know about the additional products on offer that can make their lives easier.
Winning the award three years in a row has never been done before. Shelley credits Village Motors’ success to having a great team which has a focus on customer service and expert knowledge that sets them apart.
“I’m very proud of the team. We’ve also grown hugely,” she says.
Being a family-owned dealership, with strong community connections, is also a point of difference, so is retention of long-term staff.
Shelley says Dealer Principal Marlene Newcombe has been a long-time supporter of sporting clubs, such as the Dolphins, but also other groups, forging a business that has community at its core.
Historic achievement
As part of the iElite program, Jeanette Morgan has become the first woman in Nissan history to win the Platinum Award for performance, accumulating more than 500,000 points.
Jeanette, who has been with Nissan for 16 years, says she is proud of the achievement and particularly pleased to be the first woman to do it.
She is also one of only two female A-dealership managers in Queensland.
Jeanette credits her success to hard work, determination and a passion for quality customer service, and says she has her sights set on reaching one million points.
“I’ve had a lot of loyal customers over that time (16 years), who keep coming back,” she says.
“I have a down-to-earth approach – doing the right thing – and I love the brand of Nissan.
“I like that it’s a Japanese-made brand and the quality of the build. They are reliable vehicles.”
As a ‘selling’ sales manager, Jeanette knows communication is key – with customers and with her team.
