SES units in the City of Moreton Bay and greater Brisbane received vital equipment worth more than $31,000 to help them prepare for the upcoming storm season.

The handover was held on Wednesday, December 6 at the Redcliffe SES base, where Moreton Bay units were provided with safety, lighting and first aid equipment.

The equipment delivery is part of the 2023/24 Energising Queensland SES Equipment Program, which has been ongoing since 2014.

Some of the equipment included CPR training manikins, basket stretchers, floating manikins, 12volt fridges, 4x4 safety equipment and lighting equipment.

Energex, Ergon Energy and Powerlink Queensland are among the top power companies contributing to this program.

This year’s delivery totalled a staggering $250,000, which is $50,000 more than last year.

Area manager of Energy Queensland Chris Graham and the Acting Assistant Commissioner for the SES Mark Dole both thanked the volunteers and power companies for their continued support and effort.

"Thank you for your selfless volunteering," Chris says.

“(The power companies’) grants are very practical and well received with what they have done," Mark says.
